Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow – mindedness.
-Mark Twain
Travel takes us out from our comfort zone into the unknown – from predictable to unpredictable. It takes us out of routine doings & hence enable us a chance to step into the “being” domain, even more true if the travel is into nature.
I consider myself fortunate to have travelled so much. Born in Asia, lived in Africa, Asia & US, Travel has taken me almost everywhere. From the lofty hills of Colorado to the deserts of middle east from the land of midnight sun to southern tip of India, form the rocky heights of alps to great falls of Victoria …. My passports weight heavier than my bank account passbook.
I travel a lot; I hate having my life disrupted by routine….
-Caskie Stinnet
In the recent months, I made two trips to the relatively unexplored parts of Himalayas that lie bordering India & China. The trips have made a part of my soul be left there forever. The arid & regions of Ladakh, Spiti & Lahole have made me aware of our tiny existence in this universe. The snow cloud mountain peaks, arid landscape in large parts, melting glaciers flowing through the roads, ever winding fierce rivers; all left me gasping for breath. Perhaps what makes it even more soul stirring is the peaceful, honest & spiritual Buddhist community that melts your heart.
I’d rather have a passport full of stamps then a house full of stuff……..
